It takes its name from
the river that flows at the foot of the Manciano quarry
(the Tuscan Maremma).
This is a 20-million year old sedimentary, frost insensitive
rock.
It is sandy to brown in colour with barely perceptible
layerings that lend it its warm, polychromatic effects.
USE AND APPLICATIONS. Because of the size of
the quarry and the unquestioned technical/chromatic
qualities, this stone may also be used for extremely
advanced applications.
Thanks to its particular hardness it is used for cladding
and paving big construction surfaces exposed to ice
and salt and areas subject to earthquakes.
PARTICULAR FEATURES: a high siliceous content
with a breaking load of 830 Kg. /cm2
The chromatic and mechanical values are absolutely
constant throughout production.
